My phone has been ringing with groundhog issues in gardens and keeping groundhogs out of garden areas requires a special type of fence. Because groundhogs can both dig and climb well, the fence must extend out from the vertical part at both the top and bottom. The bottom is held in place with steel stakes and the top with guide wires on the posts. This is the type of fence that protects my own garden successfully!
